Join me on my 3-day raw food and juice fast as I tackle Hashimoto’s and autoimmune symptoms naturally. Plus, my go-to green juice recipe for healing!

If you’ve ever struggled with autoimmune issues, you’ll know the journey is anything but linear. There are ups, downs, and plenty of moments where you think you’ve cracked the code—only to realize your body has other plans. Right now, I’m deep into a 3-day raw food and juice fast, and I want to share how it’s going.

The Emotional Side of a Juice Fast

Let’s be real: the first day is always the hardest. Food isn’t just fuel; it’s comfort, it’s habit, it’s emotional. I didn’t realize how much I reached for food out of boredom or routine until I took it away. That initial mental hurdle of not chewing on something was tough. But once I moved past that emotional attachment, things started to shift.

By day two, I felt lighter, brighter, and full of amazement at how quickly the body responds when we truly nourish it. It’s like my digestion took a deep sigh of relief, and my energy levels started to climb. My skin even looked clearer, and I could tell my body was starting to detox.

The Detox Rollercoaster

But (and there’s always a but), detoxing is no joke. When you have an autoimmune condition like Hashimoto’s, your body sometimes decides to throw a little tantrum before it thanks you. Old symptoms flared up—fatigue, a bit of brain fog, even some joint stiffness. I knew this was just part of the healing process, but it’s always a reminder that healing isn’t a straight line.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that autoimmune conditions are often a silent disability. No one can see what’s happening inside your body. When you’re feeling exhausted, inflamed, or foggy, people don’t always understand. But that’s why it’s so important to listen to your own body and make the necessary changes—even when they’re hard.

The Gluten & Dairy Reality Check

Recently, my kinesiologist gave me yet another reminder that gluten and dairy are a hard no for me. She’s been telling me this for 20 years (yes, literally every time I see her). And what have I done? Dipped in and out, convinced myself that moderation was okay. But here’s the truth: it’s not working. My body is speaking loud and clear—it’s time to fully commit.

I know I’m not alone in this. So many people with autoimmune conditions struggle with food sensitivities, especially to gluten and dairy. It can be overwhelming to make those permanent changes, but when you see how your body reacts, it becomes clear: food is either healing you or hurting you.

Lou Corona’s Green Juice Recipe

One of the things that has kept me going during this fast is Lou Corona’s legendary green juice. It’s packed with enzymes, minerals, and chlorophyll, making it an amazing way to support detox and healing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 3-4 stalks of celery
  • 1 handful of spinach or kale
  • 1 handful of parsley or cilantro
  • 1 lemon (peeled)
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • 1 apple (for a hint of sweetness)

Instructions:

Juice everything together and enjoy immediately for maximum benefits. This green juice helps reduce inflammation, alkalize the body, and boost digestion.

Final Thoughts: Healing Is a Journey

Healing isn’t always easy, and it’s definitely not always convenient. But one thing I’ve learned on this journey is that your body is always speaking to you—you just have to listen. Right now, my body is telling me to nourish it, to remove what’s harming it, and to be consistent.

If you’re struggling with autoimmune issues, Hashimoto’s, or chronic inflammation, just know that you’re not alone. I see you, I get you, and I’m right here with you. If you need support, have questions, or just want to chat, reach out. We’re in this together.

Sending you all some healing vibes and a big glass of green juice! 🍏🥬💚
