A smoothie bowl doesn’t have to only contain fruit or vegetables! A smoothie bowl with chocolate or peanut butter can be a delicious treat to look forward to. Chocolate and banana pair beautifully together, so they are usually combined in a smoothie bowl.
This smoothie bowl is a good way to change up your daily recipe but should be balanced so that you are not consuming too much sugar every day. The recommended sugar intake for one day is 25 to 30g; if you consume more than this each day you are not only increasing your calorie intake but increasing your risk of diabetes and heart disease. A chocolate and banana smoothie bowl with peanut butter is a perfect one-off smoothie.
- 1 banana
- 2 tbsp. peanut butter
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp. cocoa powder
- ¼ tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp. granola
- 1 tbsp. peanuts
Combine 1/2 banana (keep other half for toppings), 1 cup of ice, peanut butter, almond milk, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract in a blender
Once your ingredients have been blended, place your smoothie mixture into a bowl
Arrange the toppings; remainder of banana, granola and peanuts to your taste on top of the mixture in the bowl
